Your challenge
As a Business Application Engineer, your main focus is to guarantee the smooth operation of our internal business applications. You are involved in the implementation of new features and error correction in existing applications. And after you have gained some more experience, you’ll also participate in the analysis, design, and implementation of new functionalities, and even in conceptualizing new applications.
You are responsible for:
- Working out the optimal solution for specific applications in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Providing training and support to colleagues from other departments when they use these applications.
- Representing OMP in meetings and discussions with external partners. These technical discussions are mostly regarding the integration of our internal applications and data storage with the third-party application.
- Supporting the use of third-party applications, such as Salesforce and Omnitracker, within the company.
- Developing web tools for reporting.

As our new Software Engineer for Business Applications, you’ll join the Global Excellence team, as part of the Internal Services organization. The Global excellence organization ensures that our company operates at its best and is continuously in pursuit of the highest standards and the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.Your profile
We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:
- A degree in a field related to computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Programming skills and a good understanding of object-orientation.
- An analytical mindset that effortlessly combines an eye for detail with a clear view of the bigger picture.
- Good communication skills in English.
- A self-reliant and punctual work ethic within a development team setting.
- Solid understanding of relational databases like SQL Server or Oracle (migration experience is a bonus).
- Pride in writing high-quality code.
- A proactive problem-solver mindset.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with product managers, DevOps engineers, and QA specialists.
Bonus points if you have:
- A first work experience in software product development.
- Experience with database technology, preferably SQL.
- Knowledge of web development such as HTML or JavaScript.
