Paul Vanvuchelen takes over as OMP’s new CEO on November 1, 2024, tasked with building on the impressive legacy left by Anita Van Looveren. After her successful tenure, Anita steps into a new strategic role as Chairwoman of the Board, to help lead OMP into the future.
Under the leadership of founder Georges Schepens and Anita Van Looveren, OMP has evolved from a small team into a global leader in advanced supply chain planning. Since its early days in 1985, OMP has helped leading companies across a spectrum of industries, including life sciences, consumer goods, chemicals, metals, paper, plastics & packaging, to reach new levels of supply chain excellence.
Headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium, and with more than 1,200 people worldwide, OMP has proudly served some of the most innovative companies on the globe. Notably, OMP was recently recognized as a leading force in supply chain planning in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for the 9th successive year — testament to the company’s respect in the industry and its dedication to helping customers achieve success.
Paul Vanvuchelen is no stranger to driving success. He brings years of experience, not just as a former CEO in the metals industry but also from his time at OMP, where he has led key initiatives and supported global customers. Paul's expertise in supply chain optimization — improving service levels, reducing costs and optimizing inventories — means he is well placed to lead OMP into the future. He has seen firsthand how OMP's innovations empower companies to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of supply chains.
Reflecting on his new role, Paul admits: “I’m honored to be stepping into this position. Supply chain planning touches every aspect of our daily lives, and I’m excited to lead our talented team in driving our customers' success. With constant technological advancements, there’s never been a more thrilling time to be part of this.”
Anita Van Looveren, now Chairwoman, looks back on the company’s journey with pride, having built a legacy deeply rooted in the values she holds dear. She has no doubt that Paul will continue to foster OMP’s principles: “Paul’s leadership has always been about uplifting the team and the organization. He encourages everyone to reach their full potential, which I know will continue in his new role as CEO. I’m confident he’ll help bring even more value to our customers and empower our team members to thrive.”
The future is bright with Paul at OMP’s helm, backed by a dedicated team around the world, and powered by the cutting-edge Unison Planning™ solution. The company’s vision remains clear: to continue delivering world-class supply chain planning solutions while staying true to its values of innovation and collaboration.
