1. Do an assignment
If your profile interests us, you’ll be invited for an assessment connected to the role you applied for and the expertise required for it. For example, software-focused candidates are asked to solve a technical challenge, whereas consulting profiles are presented with a test requiring basic supply chain knowledge.
2. Talk to HR
Passed the assessment successfully? Congrats! Now let’s get to know each other. One of our recruiters will listen to your story, your interests, and ambitions, and explain what we can offer you. We know there’s much more to you than just your degrees and skills. Meeting in person is a great way to see if we click.
3. Get to know your manager and future teammates
Next, your hiring manager will put your expertise to the test and dig a little deeper into your know-how, preferences and ambitions. Together, you’ll discuss your options and draft the plan for your career at OMP.
4. Meet your director or the CEO
You might expect that’s where it ends. But at OMP, it doesn’t. To be sure we get along, we schedule a meet and greet with your future team director. Strategic positions require an adapted approach. For senior, tailor-made and new positions, we arrange for you to meet our CEO in person. We believe that flat hierarchy and short communication lines yield the best results.
5. Sign your contract
All set to go? If we both feel the click and agree on the terms, we’ll finalize your contract offer and talk you through the details. Welcome to OMP! We look forward to onboarding you.

It depends on how well your profile, skills, and personality match the job requirements and our culture. And then, we have to make the calendars work. We want you to meet part of your future team and management, so you can feel the company vibe and make the right decision.
Where possible, we’ll combine multiple interviews in one day. Applying for junior and standard positions takes about 2 weeks on average. Management, new or tailor-made positions typically involve more iterations and alignment meetings, so it could take some weeks longer.

The dress code at OMP is business casual. There’s no need to show up in formal attire unless that is your strong preference. We dress nicely but not sloppily, and we refrain from offensive attire. You see, we’re an informal organization, where diversity and personality matter. Just be yourself. We look beyond apparel. As long as you feel comfortable, you’ll be fine.

We trust our employees and value their know-how and network. Talent attracts talent. That’s why we encourage our staff to recommend our vacancies to their friends. If their lead turns out successful, they get a bonus, their friends score an exciting job, and we grow our pool of talent.

Once we’ve decided to work together, it’s time to get you up to speed. We want your onboarding to be a personal experience, so we customize the program to your needs.
On day one, our HR team gives you a warm welcome. We’ll introduce you to your personal coach, your day-to-day coach, and your team. You’ll be equipped with your laptop, iPhone and office supplies. Next, you’ll make yourself at home in your new office and tackle your e-learning program.
During your first 4 to 6 weeks at OMP, you’ll follow an intensive training program. Classroom trainings are complemented with on-the-job learning. No stress! Your day-to-day coach is there to help you find your way around and answer your questions.
What happens next, largely depends on your profile, role, and personal learning curve. As a consultant, you can expect to join your first project during your first months at OMP. Software engineers usually dive into complex challenges and coding after a couple of weeks.
Anywhere in your first 6 to 12 months you’ll be self-managing. Your day-to-day coach then steps back. From now on, you’re an independent team member and ready to do your job.

As a new OMP employee, you’re in for an intensive training program. During your first months, we’ll walk you through the essentials. In our classroom trainings, you and other newcomers will get acquainted with everything you need to know. You’ll learn about supply chain basics, our commercial solution, OMP’s organization and processes. In parallel, you’ll grow your soft and technical skills required for your job.
On top of that, you’ll follow customized internal training programs connected to your role, interests, and ambitions.
When your onboarding is complete, we’ll encourage you to keep on learning. Our customized training program helps you deploy your talents to the full. When your job requires specialist expertise beyond the know-how of our staff, we offer all the external training you need to be successful.

At OMP, you don’t just get one coach. You get two. A day-to-day coach and a personal coach.
During the first six to twelve months, you’ll be working closely together with your day-to-day coach. As your mentor and buddy, they’ll get you up to speed, answering all the questions you may have, and filling in the blanks that your training hasn’t covered. This person is your trusted partner for deep-diving into your job, mastering procedures, and learning all the tricks of the trade. Your day-to-day coach remains at your side until you are self-managing.
In parallel, your personal coach monitors your well-being, your progress, and your career. They’ll stimulate your personal growth and development in the long run too. During monthly one-on-ones, you’ll talk about how you’re doing, what the next steps are and what you need to successfully achieve that. Also, your personal coach will be there to assist you with your annual performance reviews.

Once a year, you’ll sit down together with your team lead and personal coach for a formal yearly review. During this meeting, you evaluate the past year, and discuss achievements and obstacles, including how you overcame them. If you’ve earned a bonus, promotion, or salary raise, we’ll talk about that too. Next, you’ll define new goals, objectives, and learning targets. Your yearly review is the perfect way to evaluate how you’re feeling in your job and our organization, and model your career path for an even better fit.

At our head office and major regional offices, you can attend pilates and boxing sessions, functional training, yoga classes and more. We like to keep you in good shape. Under normal circumstances, you are free to work up to half of your time from home. Juniors and new hires typically spend more time at the office during their onboarding period (three to six months) as they attend on-site classroom training, work intensely with their day-to-day coach, and meet colleagues at their desks to integrate and get acquainted faster.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, working from home has temporarily become our new standard in most OMP offices. We meticulously follow local legislation and recommendations in the interest of your health.

The Belgian head office serves as our European training hub. At the start of their career, Asian and Latin-American colleagues typically spend a couple of months at the head office. Some strategic company meetings take place in Antwerp too. Depending on your role, your projects and the team you’re in, it may be possible that you’ll be visiting more often.
As a general rule in normal circumstances, employees working in one of our Belgian satellite offices visit the head office one day a week on average. Special working conditions and visitor restrictions apply during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Business trips are not everyone’s cup of tea. Whether or not you’ll be doing a lot of them, depends on the career you’ve chosen. Software engineers rarely leave the office. Consultants typically spend a third of their time on business trips and meetings at customers’ sites. Travel intensity can vary considerably according to project and customer requirements. Personal preferences and life cycle plans obviously matter too. The bottom line? We always figure out which formula works best for you.

We encourage you to challenge yourself the healthy way. Working after office hours is not standard policy. We’re organized to serve our customers around the clock, but never at the expense of our staff. That being said, project work is known to have its peaks. At crucial moments, we’ll expect you to be flexible as well. Always as an exception. Never as the rule.

No, we don’t. Sure, our consultants are often on the road meeting our customers and guiding them through the implementation process. And at critical times in the project cycle, particularly around the go-live, they’ll spend more time at the customer’s site than usual. That being said, we’re not a classic outsourcing company that expects its employees to move from one customer to the next. At OMP, we keep our offices close to our customers so you’ll always have a desk.
