OMP is thrilled to announce that we’ve been selected as one of just four finalists for the prestigious Onderneming van het Jaar (Entrepreneur of the Year) 2023 award in Belgium.
This esteemed recognition, presented annually by EY in partnership with De Tijd, L’Echo, BNP Paribas Fortis, and WorxInvest, acknowledges companies demonstrating exceptional entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability, and global impact.
This year’s winner will be honored at a ceremony in Brussels on December 5, 2023.
Our journey began in a villa in Brasschaat, Belgium, back in 1985. From those humble beginnings, we’ve grown into a global leader in AI-driven supply chain planning. Today, we have over 1,000 team members spread across 10 countries, including China, Brazil, and the US.
The research firm Gartner consistently ranks OMP among the most influential and top-performing supply chain companies worldwide. That’s because our software optimizes complex supply chain planning processes in industries like life sciences, consumer goods, chemicals, metals, paper, and packaging. Some of the world’s biggest names, such as ArcelorMittal, BASF, Bayer, Bekaert, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, and Roche, trust our technology and expertise.
“Our solution assists customers in navigating fluctuating demand and material costs as well as major disruptions like COVID and war,” explains Maarten Arnouts, Global Alliance Lead at OMP.
"Our advanced algorithms simplify supply chain processes by making data-driven decisions, optimizing raw material procurement, and managing inventory levels."
OMP is dedicated to continuous innovation. We reinvest a third of our revenue into innovation and product development. Collaborating with customers, academia, and alliance partners, we aim to address current and future supply chain challenges. Simultaneously, our innovations contribute to the global shift toward a carbon-neutral, circular, and sustainable economy.
Since 1995, EY has honored Belgian companies with the Onderneming van het Jaar distinction, recognizing exceptional entrepreneurship, from corporate success to concern for the greater good.
This year, alongside OMP, the other nominees include candle manufacturer Spaas Kaarsen, logistic services provider Van Moer Logistics, and construction firm Willy Naessens. A jury composed of Belgian business and academic leaders oversees the competitive selection process, adding to the award’s prestige.
"As a pioneering Belgian company with a global presence, OMP is dedicated to helping companies tackle supply chain challenges in today's world. Now, more than ever, businesses want sustainable and resilient supply chains,” says OMP CEO Anita Van Looveren.
"I consider this nomination to be a recognition of the incredible teamwork that has made OMP the global leader it is today.”
On the topic of teamwork, our success has created opportunities for new talent. We're always on the lookout for passionate team members, especially engineers, to join our team. Focused on long-term employee growth, we offer tailored training, personal coaching, and continuous learning opportunities.
