Your challenge
As a data science consultant, you help customers reach their strategic goals by delivering data analytics, insights, and solutions. You cleanse and wrangle the data, apply the most appropriate algorithms, and transparently visualize the findings. You help to roll out new data science product developments in our customer projects. In that process, you work closely together with our data scientists, data science experts and solution architect as well as consultants from the customer’s project team.
You are responsible for:
- Growing expertise in data science to find creative solutions for real-world problems.
- Performing data cleansing, data wrangling, and statistical analysis of time series data provided by OMP’s customers.
- Visualizing your findings and presenting them to our customers in a way that non-technical audiences understand.
- Keeping an overview of your projects and managing your stakeholders.
- Coordinating and collaborating closely with data scientists, product experts, advisory consultants, software engineers, and customers.
- Providing specialist support to both users and internal data science and consulting teams across all our core industries.
- Using your deep data science insights to brief the product manager on potential product differentiators and gaps in our product offering based on interactions with customers, supply chain consultants and solution architects.
- Building prototypes for customers and prospects to demonstrate the added value of data science techniques for specific supply chain problems.
Your team
As a Data Science Consultant, you’ll join the Data Science team as part of the Product Development team. Product Development consists of specialized teams that focus on a specific domain such as demand and supply planning, user experience, data science, integration, solvers, and more. These teams drive our product road map, share OMP’s vision and expertise and create smart, robust, and scalable software solutions that solve our customers’ complex supply chain planning challenges.Your profile
We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Statistics or a similar quantitative discipline with a strong focus on statistics. A PhD is an advantage.
- Practical experience with predictive modeling, time series analysis, and forecasting.
- Familiar with techniques like multivariate linear regression, exponential smoothing, ARIMA, and machine learning.
- A sound knowledge of scripting languages such as R and Python.
- A ‘can do’ attitude in challenging environments when dealing with variable data quality and quantity.
- The ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
- The flexibility to travel.
Bonus points if you have:
- 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience.
- The ability to apply advanced data science techniques.
- A deep understanding of the underlying mathematics and statistics.
- An affinity with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning and the Azure cloud platform.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
