Your challenge
As a Legal Counsel, you draft and negotiate various agreements in an international context. Working closely with our other legal counsels, you provide proactive and practical legal support, advising our business units on risks, best practices, and contract issues.
You are responsible for:
- Analyzing, evaluating and negotiating agreements under Belgian and other law systems. These agreements include customer agreements (Software as a Service, license, maintenance and project implementation agreements), supplier agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Managing the contract process according to our internal contract policies and developing and implementing a solid contract management process.
- Advising on the implementation of new legislation (e.g. NIS2, Data Act, CSRD).
- Providing proactive and practical legal support to the company's business units on best practices and contract issues in line with the company’s strategy, with a focus on intellectual property rights, liability, confidentiality, data protection, and insurance.
- Designing legal processes and creating content (templates, guidelines, trainings, etc.) that improve our legal services and increase efficiency.
- Collaborating with the business unit managers, commercial team, and customers.
Your team
As our new Legal Counsel, you’ll be part of the Legal team. This team acts as a business partner for other OMP departments, ensuring that OMP’s growth is duly protected by concluding solid agreements and providing legal advice with a solution-oriented mindset.Your profile
We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Law.
- Passionate about commercial and legal negotiations and finding creative solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills thanks to your fluency in English.
- Experience in a multi-national customer-driven environment.
- Excellent organizational skills that allow you to plan and prioritize.
- Good at translating the legal context into hands-on and pragmatic advice that is easy to understand for people without a legal background.
- Willingness to travel internationally, up to 20% of your time.
- An analytical mindset that pays attention to details. You can think out of the box.
- A good combination of being a team player (coordinate with others, share knowledge, etc.) who is also able to work independently.
Bonus points if you have:
- A first experience in a legal department.
- A first experience in the IT sector.
